BREEDING LOVEBIRDS

There are many places that you can do research for informations and get yourself started on breeding lovebirds. There are only 2 ways in breeding lovebirds. Whether you want to breed in an aviary style or in an individual pair, lovebirds are very social and therefore will breed in either situations. I, however, breed my lovebirds in an individual base for maximum control. This way I have an idea on which colors I am trying to produce. I do not band all of my birds. The only birds that will be banded will be from the sex-linked pairs. Just like when you read the sex-linked genetics,

Lutino male / Normal Green female =

=All black eyes birds will be male split to lutino

=All red eyes birds will be female

Opaline Male / Normal Green Female

=All normal peachfaces will be male split to opaline

=All opaline will be female
